Alpine Recruitment is seeking a MEP Commissioning Engineer for an established T1 Contractor in Dublin, Ireland. Job Description:
Ensure MEP systems are installed and functioning according to design specifications and industry standards. Test, troubleshoot, and document MEP system integration. Act as a key contributor in project quality assurance and client handover success.
Responsibilities:
  • System Testing and Energy Efficiency: Conduct comprehensive testing and inspections of MEP systems to ensure they function according to design specifications and industry standards. Assess MEP systems for energy efficiency and sustainability, recommend improvements and energy-saving strategies.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues or deficiencies in MEP systems, collaborate with contractors and subcontractors to rectify problems and ensure optimal performance.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain records and reports of commissioning activities, test procedures, results, milestones and deficiencies, and compile commissioning reports for project documentation and project stakeholders.
  • Integration: Ensure seamless integration of MEP systems within the construction project, verify proper coordination among various components and systems to avoid conflicts or operational issues.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Verify that MEP systems adhere to relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards. Obtain necessary permits and approvals. Ensure the overall quality of the project by identifying and addressing MEP-related issues and discrepancies.
  • Functional Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to synchronise commissioning activities, ensuring that they align with project timelines.
  • Training and Performance Optimisation: Provide training to building operators and maintenance staff on the proper operation and maintenance of MEP systems. Monitor and fine-tune MEP systems to maximise their performance and efficiency.
  • Client Handover: Ensure handover of fully functional and documented MEP systems to clients upon project completion, addressing any client concerns or questions.
  • Safety: Promote and adhere to safety protocols and best practices throughout the commissioning process to maintain a safe working environment.
 
Requirements:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in MEP commissioning or related field.
  • Knowledge of MEP systems and relevant codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in commissioning software and documentation tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to optimise system performance.
  • Excellent documentation and report-writing skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Project management and planning capabilities.
  • Compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
  • Commitment to quality assurance and attention to detail.
  • Adaptability to changing project requirements.
