Quantity Surveyor in a Flooring company

Location: Dublin/Kildare/Meath/Wicklow

Top Recruitment are recruiting for a talented and accomplished Quantity Surveyor in a Flooring company on behalf of a leading main contractor who is a leading player in the Irish construction industry, involved in multiple business sectors including commercial, industrial, civils, pharmaceutical projects. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years' experience minimum.

The Role:
The purpose of this role will be managing all costs related to civil engineering and building projects from the first calculations to the final numbers. Quantity surveyors are tasked with ensuring value for money. However, you must also adhere to clearly defined standards and quality which are specified by building regulations.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the project commercials from start to completion.
  • Interpret contract and ensure the best interest of the project
  • Identifying and pricing of all variations as and when they occur
  • Managing and forecasting the cash flow of both projects and the business
  • Improve and implement best practice commercial processes and accurate budgeting
  • Keep detailed records of all correspondence to be easily retrieved when required.
  • Manage procurement process to ensure timely delivery of project.
  • Oversee all financial aspects of project
  • Represent the company’s interest at all project meetings.
 
Skills & Experience required for the role:
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management
  • Contractually and commercially astute. Proven track record of managing all commercial aspects of construction from inception to completion.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at different stages of the construction cycle
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Have an advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel
